Senator Padilla endorsed by entire California Democratic Congressional delegation

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) announced his endorsement of Senator Alex Padilla’s 2022 election campaign. Senator Padilla has now secured endorsements from the entire California Democratic Congressional delegation, highlighting his overwhelming support among California leaders across the state.

In addition to his broad support among his Congressional colleagues, Senator Padilla is endorsed by all California statewide officials and big city mayors.

Full list of endorsements can be viewed here.

“Senator Padilla has proven himself to be a progressive fighter in the Senate as an active supporter of the For the People Act, Medicare for All, and the Green New Deal,” said Congressman Khanna. “Both Senator Padilla and I are proud sons of immigrants who came to the U.S. with dreams of a brighter future. I support Senator Padilla’s mission to defend that dream for California’s working families and I am proud to endorse his campaign for Senate in 2022.”

“Ro Khanna is a next generation leader for California and the nation and I’m honored to have his support,” said Senator Padilla. “In just a few years, Ro has become a compelling national voice for the progressive movement, an effective champion for bold ideas, and a substantive legislative leader. I look forward to working together in the years ahead to ensure an equitable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, secure quality health care for all, combat global warming, and defend the American Dream.”

Sen. Padilla was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to fill the Senate seat vacated by Vice President Kamala Harris for the remainder of her term. He is up for reelection in 2022.

Remember to vote for Alex Padilla TWICE on your ballot: for the Special Election to fulfill the partial Senate term ending January 2023 and for the Regular Election for a new six-year term in the Senate.

Why is Alex Padilla on the ballot twice?

When Kamala Harris became Vice President, Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Alex to fill her vacant Senate seat. Alex is running to finish Vice President Harris’ term (November 9, 2022-January 2, 2023), and in a separate election for a new full term beginning on January 3, 2023.

Make sure you vote for Alex Padilla in both elections so he can remain in the Senate to continue fighting to defend democracy.
